"The Saffron Scourge" was a name more commonly given to yellow fever. This photograph is a part of new series about the scourge of yellow fever that sporadically infected New Orleans in the nineteenth century.

This photograph was made in 2018 for the photography book, Hairnomicon: Communiques from Beyond the Chair. It depicts the spirit of a hairdresser cutting and styling the hair of a living person.
